Ithaca Software LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the CocoDrilo mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
By using CocoDrilo, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Information We Collect
CocoDrilo is designed with your privacy in mind. The App does not require an account and we do not collect personally identifiable information ourselves.
- Learning progress data: Your vocabulary and grammar progress, lesson completion, review history, and performance statistics are stored in your private iCloud container via Apple's CloudKit. This data lives in your personal iCloud account, is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple, and is not accessible to us or to any other user.
- Device diagnostics: We collect basic, anonymized diagnostic information (such as device type, operating system version, app version, and crash logs) to diagnose issues and fix bugs. This information is not linked to your identity.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, or any other personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily contact us for support.
How We Use Your Information
The diagnostic information we collect is used solely to generate crash reports and fix bugs in the App.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information. Your learning data is stored in CloudKit through Apple's iCloud service under your own Apple ID.
Data Storage and Security
Your learning data is stored in the private database of your iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. Because it lives in your private container, only you can access it through devices signed in to your Apple ID — we have no ability to read, export, or modify it. Apple encrypts CloudKit data in transit and at rest.
Children's Privacy
CocoDrilo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict the processing of your data
- Request portability of your data

Data Deletion
CocoDrilo does not currently offer an in-app option to delete your learning data. Because your data lives in your private iCloud container, we have no ability to delete it on your behalf — only you can. You can remove your CocoDrilo data at any time by going to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage > CocoDrilo on your device and choosing to delete the data. We're working to add an in-app delete option in a future release.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
